NAS Patuxent River

Airfield Electrical Infrastructure Assessment
  • Decrease operating and maintenance costs
  • Improve airfield electrical system reliability and safety
  • Enhance aircraft movement operations safety

NAS Patuxent River is the home of the Naval Air Systems Command, Naval Air Warfare Center, and Navy Test Pilot School.  This project was initiated to bring the airfield electrical infrastructure up to current standards, reduce energy consumption, improve safety, and meet expanding mission needs. A comprehensive plan was developed to upgrade the airfield electrical system and related infrastructure that would achieve the goals shown above.  An assessment and recommendation report was provided for each sub-system of the airfield electrical infrastructure along with a phased implementation plan and associated cost estimates.  The Airfield Electrical Infrastructure Assessment, provided by the Military Design Group of Delta Airport Consultants, provides a phased improvement plan for infrastructure improvements required to meet the multiple mission objectives of NAS Patuxent River.
