The founder of Delta Airport Consultants, Inc., Edward L. Beale, P.E., passed away on June 19, 2012. Ed’s vision and passion for serving airport clients led him to enter private industry in 1978. Under his leadership, the firm he created prospered and has grown to a nationally-recognized consulting practice serving clients across the country.
Ed graduated from Virginia Tech with BS and MS degrees in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he taught at a community college, worked with the Corps of Engineers and the Federal Aviation Administration. During his career with Delta Airport Consultants, he proudly served as the Chair of the Airport Consultants Council, an industry trade organization.
Ed is survived by his wife, Sylvia Ann Knight Beale and his two brothers, Ray and Randy. He is also survived by his stepdaughter Tonya Martin, her husband Mark and their children Cory, Courtney and Lauren and a stepson Troy Burns, his wife Tammy and their children Brett, Jared and Amber.
Ed will be remembered fondly for his contributions to his clients and the industry he loved. His leadership, sense of humor and charisma will be sorely missed by Delta’s employees and industry friends alike.
