Airport Master Plan Update

Delta provided a 20-year vision and development plan that assessed the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport’s ability to support the changing demands of air carrier service, the impacts of an emerging flight school program at a local community college and a specialty aircraft operator, and the air cargo that may be generated from the development of a large tract of neighboring land.

Beyond developing and assessing these visionary and scenario-based alternatives, the project evaluated airspace enhancements, conducted an FAA-compliant aeronautical survey, prepared a runway length analysis and a demand/capacity analysis, and evaluated potential development opportunities for the east side of the Airport. The Master Plan also included a Strategic Business Plan and Sustainability Analysis. The resulting plans emphasized and incorporated feasible airport improvements which can be successfully implemented.
